Crack Fill & Pot Hole Repair

Why is Crack Fill & Pothole Repair Important?

It’s crucial to maintain your asphalt correctly, especially with crack filling. Water can leak into cracks, causing your entire asphalt base to weaken and eventually fail. When you fix cracks in your asphalt, you’re lengthening its lifespan and saving the customer a lot of money down the road by avoiding future pavement repairs!

How do you prepare your property for crack fill repairs?

The most important thing to remember when it comes to crack fill repairs is that it should not be done if there are still materials like sand or dirt inside of the cracks. These materials will inhibit the process and need to be removed first before applying crack sealant. If you have a crack in your driveway or sidewalk, you may be considering getting it filled with sealant to prevent water from seeping into the crack and causing damage.

Can all cracks be sealed?

Cracks in asphalt can be a problem if they are not dealt with quickly. The longer the crack is left unattended, the more likely it will become impossible to seal. All cracks cannot be sealed because some cracks result from alligatored pavement which is beyond repair.

Can Crack Seal be Done on the Same Day as Seal Coating?

At a minimum we like to see at least 72 hours between these two applications. This gives enough time for the crack filler material (or just sealant) to properly dry and cure before being covered with a new layer of sealcoat.
